President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the Father of the Nation deep Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at the portrait of the great leader Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in front of Dhanmondi Road No. 32 on Monday in the morning, on the occasion of the national day of mourning.
As part of the state program, the president and prime minister, also the eldest daughter of the father of the nation, laid the wreaths separately at the portrait of Bangabandhu. After placing wreaths, they stayed there in solemn silence for some time as a mark of respect to the great leader.
On this day in 1975, Bangabandhu and most members of his family were killed in this house by a conspiracy of army officers as part of a long conspiracy of the anti-liberation forces.
The day is officially observed as the National Day of Mourning.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the President on arrival at Dhanmondi Road No 32. As part of state programs, the President and Prime Minister placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at 6:35 in the morning.
