President and Prime Minister pay homage to Bangabandhu

As part of the state program, the president and prime minister, also the eldest daughter of the father of the nation, laid the wreaths separately at the portrait of Bangabandhu. After placing wreaths, they stayed there in solemn silence for some time as a mark of respect to the great leader.

On this day in 1975, Bangabandhu and most members of his family were killed in this house by a conspiracy of army officers as part of a long conspiracy of the anti-liberation forces.

The day is officially observed as the National Day of Mourning.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the President on arrival at Dhanmondi Road No 32. As part of state programs, the President and Prime Minister placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at 6:35 in the morning.

After placing wreaths, a cleverly turned contingent of the Bangladesh Armed Forces gave a guard of honor as a bugler played the last post.

Later, a Munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of Bangabandhu and martyrs of August 15.

Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury Speaker, Jatiya Sangsad Syeda vice president Sajeda Chowdhury, the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Rehana younger, Prime Minister daughter Saima Hossain, cabinet members, advisers to the Prime Minister, members of Parliament, Cabinet Secretary, chiefs of the three services, senior Awami League leaders and the central Party and Alliance 14, senior government officials were present on the occasion, reports UNB.

Flanked by senior party leaders, Sheikh Hasina, also the President of the Awami League, he placed another wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu.

Later, Dr. Shirin Sharmin President Chaudhury placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu.

Later, the Prime Minister went to Banani graveyard in the city and paid tribute to his mother Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib, his brother Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Sheikh Jamal and Russell and other martyrs of August 15 by placing wreaths and petals shower in their graves.
